WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY NEWBORN SESSION?

The best time to photograph a newborn baby is when they are under two weeks of age, after two weeks babies are a little harder to settle and things like colic and baby acne can start to flare up. You can contact Little Pictures Photography at any time during your pregnancy to give us an estimated due date, I will make a tentative booking and when you arrive home from the hospital with your baby you can contact me to arrange a suitable time and day for your session.

HOW LONG WILL NEWBORN PHOTO SESSION LAST?

Newborn sessions can take 2-3 hours, allowing plenty of time for feeding and comforting.

WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU?

Bring plenty of diapers, baby wipes, bottles of breast milk or formula, a pacifier, a blanket and an extra change of clothing. Please plan to stay at the studio for between 2 - 4 hours. Within this time you may get hungry so I recommend bringing a snack with you as well.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING NEWBORN PHOTOSHOOT? 

A newborn can have fussy moments and that is just fine. We won’t rush your session, and will have plenty of time to cuddle, change, feed, and relax your little one. A newborn session can take a few hours to allow for all the moods and needs of your baby, and the studio will be kept warmer than usual for baby’s comfort. Wear cool and comfortable clothing, as the studio will be nice and warm. If you plan to do newborn and family photoshoot  -  neutral colors and tones always photograph well. Please avoid logos and patterns on shirts. And just in case there are any small accidents, bringing an extra set of clothes is always a good idea.

IS IT OKAY IF THE BABY SLEEPS MOST OF THE TIME?

Yes! All of those classic, sleepy newborn images I like to capture, require your baby to be in his or her deepest sleep.

IS NEWBORN PROPS ARE SAFE TO WEAR? 

Hygiene is always a priority. Every item that baby have worn even for 5 min will be laundered or dry disinfected, every item that baby will have skin to skin contact with will be disinfected.

WHAT IF SIBLING IS ATTENDING IN THE PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION? 

I tend to do family and newborn pictures first. Follow by siblings photographs, so a newborn with brother(s) or/and sister(s). After family and/or sibling pictures are done, I would suggest dad taking brother(s) and/or sister(s) for walk or shopping. As the length of the session and high temperature is not the best for children to stay patient in. They simply will be bored.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN AFTER THE SESSION? 

About 2-3weeks after your session, you will get an email that contains a link to download edited pictures. All images will be stored and archived 60 days.
